#17 -Learn to Hoola Hoop

OK, so this is an ongoing item on the SOF list, but since we bought the Hoola Hoops and actually got a few rotations completed I am going to say it is checked off.  But we will keep trying to get better at it.

Schools OUT!

Betty had an amazing year in Kindergarten.  I am so grateful for her wonderful teachers and all of the hard work that they put in to helping her enjoy learning and reading.  She will be going to a different school next year, because they rearranged the boundries, but amazingly 11/24 kids in her class will also be switching to this new school.  Plus we have friends from church that already go there.  So we are excited for what 1st Grade has in store.  Here are some pictures from this year (some emailed to me by her teacher!)

Betty was a bus rider. This made me nervous at first, since I never had to ride the bus, but she loved it.

I have loved how goofy she has gotten this year. A real sense of humor has popped out.

I also have enjoyed doing her hair.  Thanks to Pinterest I learned some pretty cool things this year.

I ate lunch with her twice, and one of those times Oscar and Iris came along too. It was fun, but I think were were a distraction
.

Betty had the best teachers.

The Kindergarten Concert.  Can you find her? HINT- she is wearing green. There were 150 Kindergarteners at her school this year!

Betty went to a Star Wars birthday party where the girls got Leah headbands and foam light sabres.  I love this pic.

They have a beach reading day at the end of school and her teacher sent me this picture.

Ice Skating

I really don't know how they do it (because temperatures have barely dipped below freezing this winter), but each winter the Harris Pavilion gets turned into an ice skating rink.  I had mentioned to Steve that it might be something he and Betty could do together, and then 2 days later there was a Groupon for half off!

They both had a really wonderful time and we hope they can get there one more time before the season is over.  Betty was pretty wobbly at first, but soon was able to go a couple yards without Steve's help.

I braved being alone, outside, with Oscar and Iris while Betty and Steve skated.
